Please note that applications for Reception 2026/2027 are now closed. Any applications received after the 15th January 2026 will be classed as a late application.
Reception 2026 offers will be made on 16th April 2026 directly from Croydon Council.
Nursery
Please note that applications for Nursery 2026/2027 are now closed, however please contact us as we may have a few 15 hour spaces available.
If your child's birthday is between 01/09/2022-31/08/2023 they are eligible to apply for September 2026
If your child's birthday is between 01/09/2023 - 31/08/2024 they are eligible to apply for September 2027

How to Apply for Reception Admission
The children enter the school full time during the autumn term of the academic year in which they will be five years old.
All applications for the school are processed by the Local Authority(LA) and not directly by the school.

In Year Admission
Occasionally spaces are available in year groups other than Reception. Please contact the office to enquire about available places.

How to Apply for Nursery Admission 2026 - 2027
Admission to the Nursery
Children enter the Nursery in September of the school year in which they will be 4 years old. All parents are entitled to 15 hours per week of Nursery education.
30 hours funded Nursery places for working parents
Eligible working parents are entitled to 30 hours free Nursery care. Smitham Nursery is registered for this scheme. If we are able to offer your Nursery age child a 30 hour place it would be for 6 hours per day during term time.

To be considered for a place, parents should apply directly to the school. Application forms are available from the Office or by clicking HERE.
Entry to the nursery does not guarantee a place at Smitham Primary School.
