After School Club
When is the After-school Club open?
It runs from 3.05 – 6pm every school day.
There are two sessions to choose from:
Early session 3.05pm to 4pm
Full Session 3.05pm to 6pm
(Booking and payment is explained further down the page.)
Who is the Club for?
The club is for all children in Smitham from Reception to Year 6.
Where does the club take place?
The Club is based in the grounds of Smitham Primary School, in the Oaks building. Access to this is via the community gate (Gate 3). Parents need to press the buzzer and identify themselves/their child. Once through the gate you will need to take a short walk along the right-hand pathway taking you around the Oaks building.
What food is provided?
A range of hot foods like beans on toast, pasta and cheese/tuna is on offer along with cold foods such as sandwiches and fruit. The food is available to the children after 4.15pm, or after another club they may be involved in.
What else goes on?
The children are free to choose from a range of supervised activities, including board games, construction, art, etc or they may decide to join a supervised game in the playground outside. While a key benefit of the club is to provide an opportunity for positive social interaction, the children may also choose to quietly read or receive some support with completing their homework.
What supervision is there?
The club is run by Mrs Donovan (Leader), Mrs Adelakun, Mrs Palmer, Mrs Anderson and Mrs Webster-Salter. We may cover the team using other members of school staff.
Does my child have to go every day?
No. You can pick and choose the days.
What is the charge for this service?
The cost of the Full session is £12 per day, per child. the cost of the Early session is £2.50 per day, per child
